Caleb began playing rugby from the age of 5 for Melville rugby football club in the Waikato. He then moved on to play for Hamilton Boys High School, the same school as former Scotland internationals Sean Maitland and Hugh Blake. His school 1st XV went on to win the New Zealand Secondary Schools National Championships in 2013 and his final year in 2014.

In 2016/2017 Caleb was a member of the NZu20 extended squad. After failing to make the final team to compete in the 2017 Junior World Cup Caleb then played a season for his former junior club before decided to make the move to Stirling County in the back end of 2019.

Caleb made his professional rugby debut in November 2020, coming off the bench for Glasgow Warriors against Ulster.
