Stirling Wolves are pleased to confirm the coaching team for the upcoming FOSROC Super Series.
Club stalwart Eddie Pollock will see Stirling Wolves through the FOSROC Super Series Sprint as Interim Head Coach, with Sean Kennedy continuing as his assistant.
The club is excited to welcome former Scotland International Duncan Hodge to the coaching team as he makes a return to team coaching.
Duncan has previously coached Scotland as an assistant under Vern Cotter, he is most recently known for his 12-season spell at Edinburgh Rugby in various roles including assistant and a short spell as Head Coach. Most recently, before joining Stirling Wolves, he has worked with the Fiji National side.
Commenting on joining the Stirling Wolves coaching team, Duncan Hodge said: “When this opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance to coach a team again. It’s been a great first 4 weeks since I joined the Stirling Wolves coaching team – working with a great set of coaches. I’ve already recognised we have a set of talented, hardworking individuals and I can’t wait to help the team, and individuals, develop over the course of the Sprint Series.”
Sean Kennedy, assistant coach, said,
“I’m really excited to get back into the season with the squad and the new coaching group. We have a talented group of players with good, core players from last season, alongside great new additions to the team. I’m also looking forward to learning from others within the coaching group, and I’m excited for what lies ahead this season.”
Looking ahead to the Sprint Series as Head Coach, Eddie Pollock, commented,
“As a long time Stirling man, I am delighted to lead the Wolves on an interim basis into the new Super Series which also involves Glasgow A and Edinburgh A. We have recruited a talented, hard-working group of players and the new coaching group have been pleased with their skill and huge effort shown at training.
“Personally, it has been great working alongside Duncan Hodge again and as you would expect, he has brought a huge amount of skill, experience and attention to detail to the group. Sean Kennedy is developing well as a young coach, asking searching questions of the players at training. Alongside this, his current playing knowledge has been an invaluable asset to all of us.
“We are looking to announce another exciting high-level coach in the next few weeks which will complete our coaching set up. We are all excited about the new season starting and we look forward to performing in front of a large passionate crowd at Bridgehaugh in the coming weeks.”
