Aims

Previous seasons have seen our playing members paying an annual membership followed by weekly match fees, bus fees, laundry fees and purchase of training and playing kit. The new membership model moves away from this continuous call on money on a weekly basis.

The aim of this new membership package is to provide a complete rugby experience package for all members for a single monthly fee (or annual if preferred)

Mission

Our mission is to provide a brand of rugby that is enjoyable, exciting and available to everyone in our community. We aim to use our rugby foundations, our core values and achievements to develop and grow the club both on and off the field. We will identify and develop players who may eventually go on to represent professional and international teams via our nomination of hub club status within the Scottish Rugby Union.

History

Stirling County Rugby Club has provided rugby in the Stirling area for 120 years, founded and elected to the Scottish Rugby Union in 1904 by the former pupils of Stirling High School playing at Williamfield. In 1925 a “breakaway” club was formed at Bridge of Allan and these two clubs merged in 1964 moving to our current home of Bridgehaugh Park

In 1977 the club won Division 7 of the Scottish leagues and through the development of a strong and vibrant youth section feeding the senior team gained successive promotions to Division 3.

In 1989 promotion to Division 1 was achieved and in 1995 Stirling County became the first club to win the Scottish Championship having come through all the Divisions, a feat only since equalled by Currie RFC.

Our Women’s team was formed at the advent of Women’s rugby in Scotland in 1993 and are current Scottish Champions for the second successive year.

The mini section at Stirling County was started in 1974 and celebrates it’s 50th year. Stirling County’s success has been founded on the strength of its youth section and the volunteer commitment which has underpinned it. The club has won more youth titles in boys and girls rugby than any other in Scotland. It has produced many international and professional players and has enriched the lives of thousands of young people in the Stirling area.

In 2018 Scottish Rugby selected Stirling County as one of six clubs to host squads in the new semi-professional Super 6 Series. Whilst saddened by the decision of Scottish Rugby to end this structure after 5 years the club is proud that its Stirling Wolves are 2024 Scottish Champions Super Series Sprint Finalists

Infrastructure

Stirling County has developed Bridgehaugh Park to be one of the finest rugby stadia in Scottish Rugby and have exciting plans for future developments. We have implemented a programme of refurbishment works to the clubhouse in terms of kitchen and catering facilities, new rugby

offices, new administration offices to reflect the stand and professionalism we are implementing going forward. This includes the full refurbishment of the new executive suites, Parker suite. The bar is currently being refurbished to create a first-class environment that everyone can use and enjoy.

We are continuing the upgrade of the pitches and the maintenance programme that will bring the pitched back to the best possible surface for rugby in the country.

We are delighted to announce that MACRON will be our new kit partner with an offering that will be second to non in Scotland for all members at all ages.

This new partnership will also provide us with a new bespoke retail unit that will stock the full County range of merchandise and also MACRON clothing. We will also be able to sell Scotland and Glasgow Warriors clothing and strips.

We have partnered with RHINO as our equipment supplier, this will allow us to sell a variety of rugby accessories within the shops; gum shields, head guards, studs, boots, laces etc.

In addition to these products, we intend to stock and promote local businesses and their merchandise.

Purpose

To create a community that promotes healthy and happy lives through rugby

Aim

Stirling County will be our club – at the heart of our nation, our sport, our community, and deeply cherished by our members.

Vision

For our minis, it means a safe, positive, and fun environment where they can build friendships and develop a lifelong passion for rugby, in an open and inclusive setting.

For our youth, it means a dynamic and supportive atmosphere where they can embrace challenges, celebrate successes, and learn from setbacks. Here, they are nurtured and empowered by their teammates, coaches, and the club.

For seniors, it means pursuing excellence on the pitch and forging enduring friendships and memories, driven by a commitment to hard work and continually improving.

For our staff, volunteers, non-playing and sponsors, it is a place to make meaningful contributions, uplift others, strive for excellence, and celebrate our collective achievements, no matter how big or small.

For our peers in Scottish Rugby, we aspire to be a beacon of what a rugby club can represent—exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and community spirit.

For our local community, we are a welcoming and inclusive home where everyone feels they belong and can take pride in our shared accomplishments.

What are our Values?

Open and inclusive

Nurturing and empowering

Honest and transparent

Hard working and driven

Volunteering

We take great pride in the dedication of our volunteers, who help make our club the best it can be. From parent coaches and team managers to match day operations and the Board of Directors, most roles within the club are filled by passionate volunteers.

Whether you’re a playing or non-playing member, we hope you’ll consider supporting the club by contributing your time or expertise. Your involvement is crucial to keeping us moving forward.

A volunteer form is being produced and will be sent to all members with details in how to get involved, everyone can make a difference to this club by doing even the smallest thing.
