On Sunday 5th September County women played their last preseason game against their old foes Hillhead Jordanhill.
Running out victorious, it brings the preseason to a close with the team unbeaten!
the women’s squad has benefitted hugely from the success of the girls section at the club. We have had 20 players at senior training in pre-season who have come through the junior section. Even with some heading away to study, there are around 30 players available for matches, without including our internationals who are away until the end of September. We are aiming to grow the squad further, so always looking for new players.
It has been great to get back to playing matches and we go into the Premiership season with real optimism. County are one of six teams in the top league.
On Sunday 12th the league season kicks off with a trip to Edinburgh to play Corstorphine Cougars. These games are always closely contested and we hope to get good crowds down to Bridgehaugh to spur the team on!
Let’s hope County Women can continue their winning ways and open the new season with another win!
