Stirling County Men’s 1XV delivered a dominant performance at Bridgehaugh on Saturday the 11th against Musselburgh, running in twelve tries to secure a commanding 76–14 victory. County got off to a flying start with two early tries from Archie Rankin, before Musselburgh briefly responded to make it 10–7. From there, Stirling took full control, with vice-captain Mikey Heron crossing for the first of his three tries, supported by scores from Ryan Southern, Glenn Bryce and another from Heron before half-time, giving County a strong 34–7 lead by halftime.
The second half saw more of the same with Ramsay Scott, Eric Davey, and Heron again all going over, before a penalty try and two well-taken finishes from replacement James Imrie, who came off the bench and put on an exceptional performance.
Player of the Match went to Mikey Heron for a standout showing in attack and defence, leading by example throughout. Speaking after the match, vice-captain Ruaridh Hart said: “Obviously really buzzing to get the win and bonus point. Still the odd little moment where we would give a penalty or something, so definitely stuff to work on – but overall class and really looking forward to next week.” It was a powerful performance across the park, with Stirling showing control, pace and depth, and they’ll take plenty of confidence into the next round.
