The Memories meeting speaker this week was Brian Robertson, stalwart prop in the Division 1 championship winning team in 1996. Brian spoke of the great camaraderie he experienced while playing at County. You can feel it from the attached photograph where he is leading his teammates on a typical charge.
Brian also starred in the successful Glasgow side of the time, regularly playing against international players and winning more often than not. In fact they won the inter District championship.
Brian just enjoyed playing rugby and did not feel he missed anything as the professional era arrived, indeed he felt the game lost a key element. You can see his chat with Eddie Pollock on the club website.
