We’re proud to announce that Stirling County coach Scott Lawson is taking on a new role as Head Coach of Bristol Bears Women.
Capped 47 times for Scotland, Scott has made a significant impact at Stirling Wolves and Stirling County Rugby as a forwards, defence, and contact area coach.
Performance Director Eddie Pollock said:
“I have known Scott since I coached him with the Scotland U21s in 2002. He was an excellent player who has since developed into an exceptionally talented and knowledgeable coach, with a tremendous all-round understanding of the game.
Scott has spent nearly four seasons with us and was a driving force in the coaching team that guided Stirling Wolves to the Super6 Championship win in 2023, working tirelessly alongside the other coaching staff to improve and develop an outstanding group of players.
He has continued to uphold his high standards with our Men’s 1st XV over the past season and, as such, will be greatly missed by everyone at the club. He has been a pleasure to work with.”
Scott Lawson said:
“I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved at Stirling and hugely grateful for the opportunities and learnings it created.
My personal relationship with Eddie, along with the experience of working closely with Hodgey and Sheeba, culminated in the highlight of my coaching career to date —winning the Super Series Championship in 2023.
Last season, working with Jacko was another positive chapter, and I’m confident he and the coaching team will lead County to long-term success.
It’s also great to see such a strong Scottish presence at Bristol, many with rugby roots that trace back to Bridgehaugh. I’ll definitely not be a stranger to the club when I’m back in Scotland.
Thanks for all of the memories!
