Congratulations to Stirling County’s very own Murphy Waker and Max Williamson who have been selected in the Scotland squad for the upcoming Skyscanner Americas Tour.
Max, who first picked up a rugby ball at Bridgehaugh at the age of 4, has been named in a national squad for the first time and is in line to make his debut following a breakout season for Glasgow Warriors. Prior to signing a professional contract, Max played through the age grades at County including two seasons for Stirling Wolves.
Murphy, who also played for the Wolves having broken into the County Men’s 1st XV as a teenager, will be looking to add to his 5 caps against Canada, USA, Chile and Uruguay having renewed his contract with Glasgow Warriors earlier this season.
Scrum-half Ben Afshar, who was a member of the Stirling Wolves squad that lifted the 2023 Super Series Championship trophy, has also been named as a Development Player on the tour.
