We are delighted to announce that Rhodri Tanner will be joining the team and Adam Wood is returning to the Super6 squad.
Adam, who plays at prop, had missed the Sprint Series in Spring due to injury and returns to the squad having played for the team in the two previous FOSROC Super6 championships. Adam has played at Stirling County since the age of 11 and had this to say on his return to the team:
“I’m really excited to be back in the squad for the upcoming season and I’m hoping we can build on the success the team had in the Sprint Series.”
Hooker Rhodri Tanner joins the squad having previously played club rugby at Ayrshire Bulls, Birmingham Moseley and Nottingham Rugby. He has also played for Wales Students and Loughborough University. Rhodri spoke ahead of the new season:
“I can’t wait to get stuck into this year’s Super6 with the Wolves. I’m also looking forward to meeting all the supporters of this great club. I really feel like we have built a team capable of lifting that trophy in the autumn, and playing some attractive rugby on the way.”
Head Coach, Ben Cairns, provided his thoughts on the two additions:
“It’s great to add these two front row forwards to our squad. Woodsy is a Stirling man and someone we know very well having been involved with our squad previously. He has worked really hard to return after back surgery and we are looking forward to having him back fit and firing again.
Rhodri joins us from fellow Super6 side Ayrshire Bulls. He’s a player I’ve always been impressed by and he has fitted in really well with our group. With Reyner Kennedy out injured long term and Angus Fraser going pro, hooker was an area we needed to strengthen and we are delighted to have Rod on board for the Championship season.”
We wish both players the best of luck for the forthcoming games.
