Stirling Wolves Announce Jack Hill, Gregor Christie & Finlay Callaghan are joining the FOSROC Super6 Squad

We are excited to announce the addition of a further three players to our Super6 squad.

Jack, who plays back row, joins the club after spending 4 years playing with Durham University while studying. He helped the team win back to back BUCS Super League titles in his final two seasons. Jack was also in the Sale Sharks academy and has represented Scotland across multiple youth levels.

Jack had this to say on joining Stirling Wolves for the upcoming season:

“I am really excited about joining Stirling Wolves and working alongside Ben Cairns and the rest of the team.

I’ve followed the Super6 closely while playing with Durham in the BUCS Super league and am really looking forward to the challenges of a closely contested league.”

Jack Hill

Scrum-Half Gregor Christie signs with us from New Zealand, having been playing for Pukekohe Rugby Club. Scottish qualified, Gregor has played in Scotland before with Currie Chieftains and has also played a season in Canada for the Clansmen.

Gregor shared his thoughts on joining:

“I’m really excited to meet all the lads and get stuck into the season, hopefully we can come out successful in the Championship.”

Finlay, who plays outside-back, has represented Scotland at U18 & U20 levels and has recently been a part of the Scotland 7s setup. He was previously aligned to Ayrshire Bulls as a senior academy player from Glasgow Warriors.

Finlay had this to say on joining:

“Both of my flat mates and quite a few of my friends play for Stirling and have spoken so highly of the culture and the boys. I’m buzzing to get involved and hit the ground running going into the Championship!”

Finlay Callaghan

Ben Cairns, Stirling Wolves Head Coach, spoke on the three additions:

“We are really excited to have secured the services of these 3 Scottish Qualified players.

Jack joins us from Durham University having completed his studies. He’s someone I have worked with previously in the National Age Grade programme and he left a lasting impression on me. He’s a really good man, his work ethic is excellent and we know he will slot in really well to our group.

Gregor is another great bloke with a high work rate and is also someone I’ve worked with previously, from my time at Currie Chieftains. Gregor returned to New Zealand during the Covid pandemic but we’ve managed to get him back across now and are really looking forward to seeing how he goes at Super6 level.

Finlay is a player I’ve always liked and is someone I tried to bring to Stirling a few years ago. He worked really hard to get himself back after rupturing his ACL in his U18 year. He was assigned to Ayrshire Bulls as a senior academy player but having been released we jumped at the chance to bring him to Bridgehaugh. He’s been in training with both Scotland 7s and Glasgow Warriors so hopefully his time with us can help springboard him to a full time pro contract.”

We wish all 3 players the best of luck for the forthcoming games.
