VOLUNTEERS WANTED, TREE PLANTING AT BRIDGEHAUGH. - Stirling County RFC

VOLUNTEERS WANTED, TREE PLANTING AT BRIDGEHAUGH.

Stirling County Rugby Club are working with Local Charity TreeLink Stirling to improve the environment of the club grounds.

This will be Stirling County’s second tree planting event, having successfully already planted a 175-metre hedge. We aim to plant another 340 Woodland Trust-supplied trees, but we need volunteers to help get the trees in the ground.

We also need help to lay mulch around the new hedgerow to stop weeds and increase moisture over the summer period.

WHEN: Saturday 23rd March, 10.00 – 13.00

WHERE: Stirling County Rugby Club, Bridgehaugh

WEAR: Sturdy footwear (boots or wellies) and bring gloves and a spade if you can.

Tea, coffee and bacon rolls will be provided to warm and sustain volunteers during their planting efforts!

This tree planting along the banks of the River Forth is an important part of TreeLink’s exciting “Crown of Trees” project, which aims to connect woodlands right around the city of Stirling (https://www.treelinkstirling.org/our-big-idea )

This event is being supported by TCV who have kindly donated the tree guards and canes
