Bio

Born and raised in Palmerston North, New Zealand Korie was very passionate about rugby since he was only 7 years old. He played P.N.B.H.S 1st XV for 2 years which was in the super 8 a massive competition in the north island.

Korie also played multiple sports such as Touch Rugby, Cricket, Softball & Basketball. Basketball was the other sport Korie fell in love with, being selected at high school for a 3v3 National tournament hosted in Auckland was a great memory, as we finished 5th in the nation. After high school, Korie played Manawatu U19 and was awarded best back. Manawatu men’s sevens, and from his hard work and dedication a pro contract to Edinburgh Gunners in 2020-2021.

After the Covid months, Korie decided to go back home to NZ and be with his family & friends through the tough times of lockdown. He then finished university, gaining a bachelor of business degree, majoring in international business.

After playing at his local club Varsity, he was selected to play for New Zealand University’s team which was a proud moment for Korie. He then moved to Christchurch playing for Sumner rugby (Scott Robinsons) club. After the season was finished Korie managed to get a contract with the Southern Knights for 2022 & playing a pre-season game with Edinburgh against London Scottish/Harlequins. After the Southern Knights season, he felt a need to sign with the other (S) team Stirling Wolves. A place where he felt more a home as there seem to be a few Kiwis running around. 2023 is going to be a good year!
