Retiring from playing in 2001 he coached the 2nd XV for two seasons before taking on the 1st XV Forwards coach role in 2002-3 when Richie Dixon left to coach Scotland. He spent 6 successful years as Head coach at Grangemouth RFC from 2003-2009 before returning to the club for a four year spell where as Director of Rugby he led County back in to the premiership as Division 2 champions. In 2003 he moved overseas to coach OMBAC (San Diego) in the USA Super League where he led them to National title in 2006 and won the Coach of the year award.

On returning to Scotland in 2006 he joined Haddington as Head Coach and had immediate success winning the Premier 3 title in 2007. In 2009 he returned to Bridgehaugh where he again led County back to the Premier division as champions in 2010 leaving in 2012 to take on the full time Head coach role with Scotland U18’s.  In 2018 after retiring from Scottish rugby Eddie took on the Head Coach role for one season on an interim basis as the Super6 competition was being finalised.

Alongside these roles Eddie spent thirteen years, working full time for Scottish Rugby coaching the National U18’s and U20’s in the Six Nations and Junior World Cups as well as being Head of Specialist Skills Development for Age Grade and Woman’s Rugby. He is a UKCC Level 3 Coach and Tutor.

Stuart Keys

Team Manager

I have coached at Stirling County since 2007 after a couple of weeks of watching my son and his friends on the touchline. I decided to put a tracksuit on and haven’t looked back. I have loved being at the club and being involved with so many good people – players, coaches, parents and supporters. In that time, I have coached all the boys’ age groups up to U16, the girls U18 and the women’s squad. Lots of very happy memories, a few great tours and a lot of pleasure from seeing players develop on and off the pitch.

The role of team manager was a great chance to work with the senior men’s squad. I have really enjoyed it. Sorting out dirty kit is not exactly glamorous – but as with most jobs, it’s the people around you who make it all worthwhile.

Dave Pugh

Team Doctor

Dave now works full time in sport having retired from GP. Having really enjoyed his first season in Super6 with County he is delighted to be back for this season. Dave has been Scotland U20s Team Doctor since 2008/9 and covers Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh as Match Day Doctor, immediate care Doctor and Hawk-eye concussion reviewer. Outside of rugby Dave is CMO for British Curling and an external contractor for Sports Scotland Institute of Sport.
